![]() There are many adjustments on picture quality, depending on the video signals. Using Eco model of power consumption will save lamp life but it is already bright enough. It is brighter and uniform in every corner. The image quality out of the box is very nice. I guess this is a standard feature right now. Nice feature I am first satisfied with was lens shift function, it assured the image quality without distortion. Ceiling installation with previous setting was easy. When I open the box, I immediately noticed this projector is much bigger than my old Panny 300U (double the size). ![]() After search online, I feel this one is the most cost-effective model so far. I heard it uses some technology that were used in previous 8500 model, and some other improvement above 8100 but lower price. I got the good time, shortly after Epson issued this new product. I want to replace it due to my large size screen (147” 16:9) and better resolution. If using smaller than 100” screen with blue-ray movie, it is still very impressive, better than DVD quality. The color and image quality is still nice. 300U was one of the top entry level home theaters at the time I bought. Got new Epson 8350 yesterday to replace my old Panasonic PT-AE300U. Hopefully i have good luck with this unit it really is a break through in the theater market I would go as far as to use this projector in all of my sub 2k home theaters, i just cant see how anyone can compete with this picture and image quality for this price range. ![]() From the door i just set to living room, and walla its pretty much set.The fan is very quite on this unit also. From a functionality standpoint it has most all the bell and whistles, the only thing i miss is the keystone options which for some reason this doesnt have. I did notice a small amount of pixaliation when looking at some high motion sports but overall is a non issue. The brightness is noticably better than my last panny.the colors and detail are phenominal. My setup is using a prgunv peerless mount, with a 1.0 GAIN 92" screen, the projector is 15' from the screen. On the side i own a small "hobby" company doing theater installs. I typically dont write reviews unless something really takes me by surprise.but i felt compelled to write something becasue of how great this projector is.this is my third personal projector, i have rode the wave like most of you.started out with and infocus 4805, then went to a panasonix ax100u, now the Epson 8350. :) but no projector in this price range has that kind of feature. It would be nice to have in this projector. They never let you down.Īny Problems: none, The only reason I gave it a 4 in features is because of the frame interpolation. But I do have to say, Epson blew my socks off my feet when I first plugged in my 8350, and wow! I was astonished again by Epson. Later I purchased an Optoma hd20, decent colors and detail, but compared to the panasonic I had before, to me it wasn't much of an "upgrade" panasonic's 1080p compressed picture looked pretty amazing to me, and compared to the optoma it wasn't that much of a change. also Panasonic ax200u - a 720p HD projector with awesome colors and detail. I've had an epson moviemate 25 when they first came out, it was awesome i loved it. The picture quality is like i have never ever seen before in a projector, crisp and sharp. The Image is incredible, the colors are vibrant and pure. Incredible!, I have to say that epson has done an amazing job in bringing you a home theater experience that you'll never experience with any projector in this price range. The thing is big and heavy.Īny Problems: No auto focus, no auto input switch. ![]() My brother in law comments that it's not as vibrant as a plasma, but it's also 6 times the size. SD looks like crap, and even HD over satelitte looks blocky, but that is the 144" more than anything. The 1080p image is good, but not perfect, and at 720p it's fine. It turns on quick, no auto focus or auto switch for input. ![]() The fan is okay, but I can still hear it. It is right above my head at 8', and I can hear the auto iris calibrating constantly unless i turn it off. I would like it brighter, and when it is dark or dim the brightness is fine, but I want it brighter still. Despite the sheer size of the projected image and the fact I am not using a screen, just a painted wall, plus the fact I have ambient light sometimes, the picture is good. I am projecting on a wall that allows me to create a 144" screen. I am projecting in a moderately ambient lit room. ![]()
